Reservation and Cancellation Policies


We are a small hotel and often booked months in advance. in order to officially guarantee your reservation you will need to pay 100% of the room and board price or 50% of the total package price in advance. Until payment is received your reservation is only tentative and our policy is first come first served. We never double book our rooms.

You can either pay by U. S. dollar check (it must arrive two months ahead of arrival date as that is how long our bank will hold it before releasing funds to us), bank transfer or credit card (only VISA or MasterCard). If you use your credit card you need to:

  1. Fill in and sign a Credit Card Authorization form. We will send it to you by e-mail after you confirm the dates you want and the type of room and number of people.
  2. Make a photocopy of your credit card front and back.
  3. Make a photocopy of your picture page in your passport.

You can then scan this information and send it back by e-mail or else fax it to us in Costa Rica at (506) 280 8422. Then send us an e-mail confirming you have sent the fax. When we have charged your credit card we will immediately send you a receipt by e-mail and your reservation will then be officially guaranteed.
We're sorry, but travelers checks are not accepted.

We offer the following discounts for children when they stay in your room:

  • 3-11 years - 50% for lodging and meals and 10% for all activities
  • 3 years or less - no charge


Cancellations

Almost none of our guests (less than 1% during the six years of our existence) needed to worry about cancellations but please take the time to read this section to avoid any misunderstanding. We go out of our way to help when we can but our official cancellation policy is:

All cancellations must be made by fax with an e-mail confirming the cancellation. Cancellations by telephone are not acceptable.

If the cancellation is received 31 days or more before your scheduled arrival at Pirate Cove we will refund the money you have sent minus 10% for administration costs.

If the cancellation is received 30 days or less before your scheduled arrival there is no refund.
