Dolphin and Whale Watching Tour at Drake Bay

The ocean near Drake Bay is filled with abundant and varied marine species. Isla del Caño is home to many of the same species living in the Galapagos Islands.

The waters offshore (known as the Costa Rican Thermal Convection Dome if you really want to know) teem with dolphins, migrating whales (for several months each year), mantas, sea turtles and many more animals.

The Costa Rican government has prohibited close interactions since some boats in the past have pursued these lovely animals far too agressively, and we fully support this policy.

There are few experiences more beautiful than to see a mother humpback whale and her calf swimming. Many guests report this tour is the highlight of their stay at Pirate Cove.
