Accommodations at Pirate Cove, Drake Bay
Our prices are the same for whichever accommodation you choose but each type has some interesting differences. The cabins are more spacious and elegant (in a jungle way!) and the bungalows are more cozy and closer to nature.
BUNGALOWS
Did you ever go camping? Remember how your tent blocked out the rain and the insects but let in all the wonderful sounds of nature?
That's the general inspiration for our bungalows, but you won't be sleeping rough in these rooms! Since we introduced them they have become the most popular housing option at Pirate Cove.
The walls are made of a very sturdy fabric, but instead of tent flaps each cabin has a door and screened windows. Inside are polished wooden floors. All have private bathrooms with hot showers and there are ceiling fans for those hot nights. Depending on the layout you will find one double bed and either one or two single beds, all with orthopedic mattresses.
Outside each room is a small terrace with a hammock and chairs and your own private view of paradise. Finally, a hint for you: the bungalows are quite a bit cooler during our dry season (January-April).
CABINS
These are perfect for couples who want more privacy and for families. Our cabins are enormous and each contains one double and three single beds, with room for more if you have lots of children.
There is a lot of storage space for those of you who travel with way too much luggage (like my mother-in-law). Your private bathroom has hot showers and there are ceiling fans to keep you cool. Since we now have 24 hour electricity you can plug in your electric toothbrushes and hair dryers in the bathroom.
Outside, you can swing in your hammock or read in your deck chair on your large private terrace which overlooks both the Pacific Ocean and Drake River. These are truly lovely rooms.
